The Organization

The Centre Park Historic District is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, elected among candidates nominated at the annual meeting, held each October. Board members serve terms of three years, and may serve two consecutive terms.

In addition, the District retains the services of a part-time Executive Director.

The organization receives vital support from numerous volunteers and neighbors.

Headquarters Building

In 2005, The Centre Park Historic District acquired a building at 707 North 5th Street. This edifice also houses the Artifacts Bank. Since buying the property, extensive renovations have been accomplished, including the outfitting of a community meeting space and offices. With support from the City of Reading and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the building’s facade has been restored and significant building repairs have been made.
